ADMINISTRATION


Church Administration

This course focuses on the legal, biblical, organizational “how to’s” of church leadership. The practical and biblical mandates of functioning effectively as a corporate body while following God’s directives for the church will be discussed.

Leadership According to Jesus

Mentoring was Jesus’ style of training. He manifested a shepherd’s heart by committing Himself to twelve intense relationships for about a year and a half. After that time, they were to work effectively on their own, utilizing the counsel of the Holy Spirit. In this course we will discuss what is involved in a good mentoring relationship, responsibilities of the mentor and, and how one enters and terminates such relationships.

Money and Godly Stewardship

God’s Word has much to say about money. What does God’s Word mean by, “Money is the root of all evil?” Is God for or against wealth? The issue of money and stewardship will be explored in the context of God’s Word, contrasting it against the backdrop of modern-day materialism.

Ephesians & Colossians

The purpose of this course is to develop an understanding of who Christ is and what His life and death mean for the believer. The preeminence of Christ in salvation, the life of the believer and in all Creation will be explored.

Eschatology

This course is designed to guide the student to interpret competently world events in light of prophecy. The topics include Millennialism, Great Tribulation, Anti-Christ, Armageddon, and the Second Coming of Christ.

Galatians

This course is an in-depth comprehensive study of the truth of the Gospel. “We are saved through faith in Christ.” The grace of Jesus Christ in the life of the believer, and the believer’s standing in Christ will be covered.

Gospel of John

An in-depth study of the life of Jesus Christ as portrayed by the beloved disciple. Students will study the seven signs John gives proving the divinity of Christ. The life of the One who was fully man, yet fully God will be studied with renewed appreciation and wonder.

Hermeneutics

This course will examine the principles of biblical interpretation. Emphasis will be placed on the inductive method of study. In this course you will learn how to incorporate God’s Word into your life and then relate these truths to others. (Prerequisite: COM101 English I)

Nehemiah

As we study the record of the restoration of Jerusalem and the revival of God’s people, we learn that through obedience to our faithful and loving God we can accomplish great things for His glory.

New Testament Survey I

This is a background study of the New Testament, dealing with the contributions of the Hebrews, Greeks, and Romans. An overview of the New Testament, its major divisions and the variety of the whole. A survey of the four Gospels: their common characteristics and the distinctive features of each Gospel. The study of Acts as a sequel to the Gospels and the record of the beginning and early history of the church.

New Testament Survey II

A survey of the Pauline and non-Pauline epistles and how they shared testimony, delivered exhortations/commands, and interpreted the truths of the gospels. An overview of Revelation, the God-sent vision given to the apostle John.

Old Testament Survey I

These historical books will be studied with an emphasis on history, geography, typology, and chronology. The distinctive theme and purpose of each book, as well as its contribution to the unity of the Bible, will be studied.

Old Tetament Survey II

This class includes a brief study of the five poetic books and a survey of the Major/Minor Prophets. Emphasis will be placed on historical background, prophetic themes, doctrinal truths, and personal application.

Pastoral Epistles

A study of biblical principles and qualifications for leadership as found in I and II Timothy, Titus and Philemon, and how to apply them. Faithfulness and commitment to the Word of God are stressed: …”Guard what was committed to your trust” (I Tim 6:20) Salvation, forgiveness and restoration of the repentant sinner are beautifully illustrated.

Romans

An in-depth study of the theological treatise addressed to the Romans. Apostle Paul powerfully addresses sin, justification, and the sanctifying work of the cross in the life of the believer. Special emphasis will be given to a study of how the power of sin is broken in the Christian’s life.

Understanding the Bible

The purpose of this course is to survey the Bible, learn how it is organized, how to study books and topics, how to correctly interpret the Bible, and how to use Bible study aids. At the end of this course, the student will have a general knowledge of the whole Bible and a working knowledge of how to study and correctly apply the Bible to everyday life.

Computer Basics

Become familiar with your mouse, monitor, and personal computer. First learn the function of {home}, {delete}, {arrow}, and other command keys. Then learn Windows terminology and concepts including the desktop, and My Computer. Finally, you will learn how to format text, save information as a file, file management, create folders, and shortcuts on your desktop. Typing skill beyond the two-finger, method is required.

Microsoft Access

Microsoft Access is a powerful program used to create databases. After you learn database basics, you will establish tables, forms queries, and reports to manipulate the information stored in a database. A personal project will be created in class so you can use your new knowledge in a meaningful and authentic way. Prerequisite: basic Windows knowledge and typing skill beyond the two-finger method.

Microsoft Excel for Windows Beginning

Microsoft Excel 2000 is a popular program used to organize information in a spreadsheet format. Learn basic spreadsheet functions through classroom exercises. Excel helps you analyze and present attractive reports. Learn to create simple spreadsheets by entering text and numbers; opening, closing, and saving files; creating formulas; editing; formatting; charting; and printing. Prerequisite: Typing skill beyond the two-finger, “hunt and peck” method is required.

Microsoft Excel for Windows Intermediate

Gain skills beyond those learned in Microsoft Excel Beginning. Learn spreadsheet skills such as: use of graphs, management of worksheet data, advanced worksheet functions, problem-solving of “what if,” and data analysis. You must have a personal computer with Excel 97 or newer available to you for practice. Prerequisite: typing or keyboarding training and Microsoft Excel 2000 Beginning or a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows

An introduction to presentation technology and its applications. Covers the most often used features of Power Point, with step-by-step instructions and hands-on activities. Includes planning, organizing and producing an effective presentation.

Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows Level I

Learn how easy this program works as you learn to open, save and print documents; basic text correction and formatting; and editing techniques. Prerequisite: typing or keyboarding skill.

Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows Level II

Expand your Knowledge of Microsoft Word. Learn about the templates and form feature, mail merge, and how to use Word with other Microsoft Office products. Christian Heritage of the United States

The United States is the longest continuous constitutional republic in the history of the world because its constitution is constructed upon biblical principles. ‘The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next.’ (Abraham Lincoln) In this course you will discover how central God and Christianity was to the development of America’s strength and longevity, and what has happened since the Bible was removed from the classroom in 1963.

 

 

HEALTH

Take Charge of Your Health

We have a covenant of health with our God, which is based on four prerequisites (Ex. 15:26). One of these is to keep all His statutes. In this course, we will learn the statutes of God which will keep us from cancer and the other ‘Black Plagues’ of our century. We need not die prematurely if we become responsible by keeping God’s simple health commands.

God’s Provision for Healing

Learn how to receive and minister God’s healing power. This course lays a solid Word foundation that will release faith for effectively receiving or ministering healing. Presents the ministry of Jesus and the apostles as a pattern for healing today.

An overview of basic New Testament Greek grammar, the Greek alphabet, verb conjugations, third declension nouns and grammatical constructions.

Introduction to Biblical Hebrew

Homiletics

What part does the Holy Spirit play in giving and anointing the message from God. How does one deliver a Spirit-anointed message to the hearer. This course will stress sermon construction and delivery. Several different types of sermons will be examined in class.

Visionary Leadership

Jesus’ leadership approach with His ‘staff’ ran counter to most of the management styles and techniques employed today. In this course, you will explore the three categories of strengths behind Jesus’ leadership techniques: the strength of self-mastery, the strength of action, and the strength of relationships. MINISTRY

Experiencing God in the Small Group

Classtimes are to be times of experiencing God and sensing the transmission of the life flow of the precious Holy Spirit among the classroom participants. They are to be much more than studies of God. They are to be experiences with God. This course will teach you how to make every classtime a time of encounter with the Holy Spirit where each one receives an impartation of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Counseling

This course is designed to assist the Christian worker in the counseling process. The reasons for emotional and spiritual problems among Christians will be explored. An emphasis will be placed on biblical counseling techniques.

Mission of a Youth

This course will discuss the ultimate goal of what a Youth Specialist should be aiming for, to develop people like John Mark, David, Timothy, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. What is a WorldChanger? How do you build a WorldChanger? It is the ultimate goal of a Youth Specialist to have kids on fire that are sold out and radical for God. What does that mean? What do you do once they are on fire? How do they keep the fire once they’ve got it, and what is the Youth Specialist’s role in helping these kids walk in a lifestyle of changing the world?

How to Get Through to a Young Person

This course will discuss the crucial points of how to actually get through to the heart and mind of a teenager. It will include speaking technique, as well as the content of the speaking, and real ministry. We will deal with issues that really matter, how to put sermons together what really impact their lives, and how to lead into ministry at the end of each service.

Evangelism

This course is a study of practical approaches to personal evangelism. It includes learning how to initiate the conversation with someone, present the Gospel to him, and lead him to Christ, if he is ready. It includes spending thirty hours in actual, practical, personal evangelism. To presents the biblical principles of effective evangelism. This includes an overview of discipling, emphasizing the analysis of follow-up, techniques, and materials. Also surveys selected cults, focusing on their basic tenets, personalities, publica-tions, and enlistment strategies.

Introduction to Intercessory Prayer

Strategies and Models of Prayer

Sunday School Ministry

World Missions Today

A survey of missions with emphasis on the present worldwide scene, the biblical basis of missions, and how all believers can get involved. Every believer’s life will be enriched with the knowledge of God’s work through His people around the world.

Helping the Church Become a House of Prayer

This course will take a look at God’s original plan for His church. It will show that the Bible mandates that the church is to be a house of prayer. This is proven by the life of Jesus Christ and the life of the early church. This course will look at the promises that empowered the early church and motivated them. We will see that prayer brings joy into the house of the church. We will see that prayer meetings should be exciting, exhilarating, instructive, and looked forward to as one of the most important meetings of the church. A plan to help make prayer a priority shall be presented.

Intimacy with the Lord

This highly experiential course is designed to draw you into a closer relationship with your heavenly Father, in which you have not only a theological understanding of His deep love and affection for you, but you also know it because you have personally felt it. You will also learn how to help others overcome any hindrances in their lives that prevent them from experiencing the love of the Father for themselves.(Prerequisite: REN 103 Communion with God)

Increasing the Anointing

The key to the successful Christian life is walking and living in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This course has three emphases: First it is designed to help one become aware of his spirit. All 1400 verses of Scripture that deal with the heart and spirit of man are closely considered with the one supreme objective of learning to sense our spirit and the Spirit of Christ within our spirit. From there we go on to examining the anointing of the Holy Spirit and how the anointing can be increased in one’s life. Finally, we will try to get to know the Holy Spirit as a Person.

When we speak of salvation, we speak not only of forgiveness of sins but also healing, deliverance, cleansing and anything else that pertains to life and godliness. God’s Release of Women
